Building an ATV cab enclosure?? Kawasaki Prairie 360
So ive been thinking of doing this for a while and this summer seems like a good time for me to do it. During the winter I plow a lot of snow and I got tired of freezing and it now struck me that i should build a cab. I was wondering if anyone has ever done this before, i want to build one kind of like a garden tractor cab with doors and windows. I have thought about one of those "convertible cabs but they just dont seem like they would be sturdy or really keep me that much warmer but would be good for keeping wind off. I was thinking of building one with a wood frame with like lexan or plexi windows that would fully enclose down to my feet too keep warmth in. Anybody got any ideas? I dont think that it would be too costly and definitely way cheaper and better that one of those flemsy cloth cabs? Too bad i my prairie is air cooled that would be something if i could put in a heater core then i could plow in a t-shirt lol

Hey why not? Give it a try!
You might consider using angle iron and plexiglass. You could also use strips of clear plastic, like from a shower curtain, to fit the irregular areas and gaps that plexi wouldn't work on.
I wouldn't make it airtight, as the engine's heat and/or your body heat/breath would fog the plexiglass.
Make sure to post pics of before during and after the construction, and good luck!

yeah im just wanting something that is really sturdy and i can trailer down the highway without it blowing off...i do realize that they do make cab enclosures but i just dont think they are up to the standards that i want. thinking about framing it in and using underlayment and lexan to make the doors and windows. i think it will turn out awesome i may even put a cab heater in it to keep the windows defrosted.
