I bought a 80 atv today in non running condition for my 3 boys to enjoy. The previous owner say it ran good when he bought it. A year or so ago but started to drain battery and not start. Today he says the soleniod and kill switch was changed in the last two months by a tech. He
Said the tech said he started it before it left the shop but the guys i bought it from was mechanical minded at all. The tech thought it had a loose wire or shorted wire that caused the battery to drain that went unfixed. After trying jumping the atv off it turns over but will not start but you do have to reset the breaker on the right rear bumper bedore starttinf to attempt to jump off. I was just curious of where i should start looking also he said the carb was rebuilt by the tech. So.??? Thank in advance for all help and sorry for the long post

 

Welcome to the forums.
You need to spin the motor over then pull the plug. See if it's wet. Then lay the plug on the motor and see if it has spark.
Let's go from there.
