Hello I am in need of some help. My 06 prairie 300 will idlebut it will not rev. I'm not even sure where to start.

 

Clean the carburettor out.

Okay so I have clean out the carb. Now it will rev up as long as it is slowly done, but it back fires now.

 

You probably haven't got it clean enough, or some more dirt/water has got through.

 

A new spark plug probably wouldn't hurt. Check to see how dirty the air filter is, might be time for a new one.

Make sure your tank, petcock and lines are clean. I once bought a new dirt bike that had sat on the showroom floor for a couple years. Carb kept getting plugged. I finally checked the tank and it had tar like substance lining part of the tank. Never seen anything like it. One final carb, tank, petcock cleaning and all was well.
