Default 2012 Brute Force 750-Fixed

I have a Brute Force 750. It is fuel injected. It turns over and will crank at times. If it cranks it will only drive about 10 feet and die. I have removed and cleaned the fuel pump. The fuel pump primes for 3 seconds and fuel will come out of the fuel pump. If i use starting fluid it runs great but dies quickly. The best it has run has been only for 30 seconds and only with starting fluid. It seems to me it is a fuel issue. How can I test the pump? What else should i look at? When it does crank on its own, it runs for 10 seconds and then sputters and dies. I have just gotten this knowing that it was not running well. Previous owner gave little information. Any help is appreciated.

Pressure testers are available for fuel injection systems, but if Kawasakis are anything like Hondas and Suzukis, they will use peculiar high pressure hose fittings, so adapting the testers fittings to fit the Kawasaki hose could be tricky. Suzukis are pigs for the filter in the injector blocking so I would blow the injectors out with compressed air and see if that helps, before trying to pressure test the pump. Change the plug(s) too, they can go bad. It may be best to let the dealer look at the fuel system, they have the diagnostic tools.

I rented a fuel pressure tester. The main fuel line attaches to the pump with a clip. The tester i have does not have the clip so i have to hold it under pressure to make it seal. When i turn the key on and the switch the fuel pump turns on. It is priming about 2 ounces of fuel. When i turn the key over, the quad did not crank but simply turned over. while turning over i was able to get 20psi. I let the quad sit, retested and actually got the big to crank and while running the pressure tester read zero. Is this a faulty tester? Is it possible to crank and run with no fuel pressure? But it only ran about 30 seconds and I never got a reading on the tester while running. No fuel leaking from where i am holding the tester into the fuel line. Any suggestions?

I got the pressure tester working. Manual says it should read 43psi, I got 29-30psi. Would this cause it not to run? It did run for about 3-5 seconds while tester was on it. never went above 30.

Well 30psi is not good, but you seem to be having a problem with the pressure tester and fittings so I wouldn't rely on your readings. I would have thought 30psi would be enough to run, if not exactly well. Did you blow those injectors out?

Have not blown the Injectors yet. they are a pain to get to so I went with pressure test since the pump was easier to get to.

Problem solved. It was clogged fuel injectors. Almost as if the fuel line is deterioration and clogging the fuel injectors. Several chunks of black stuff and fine black particles. Not sure where they came from. Thank you merryman!!
