Abuse on 650's at service shops
#1
Had my 650 in for service, got called around 4.30 bikes ready, showed up about 10 minutes to closing, service man was racing and pulling wheeles on it .After a little chewing on backside ,service mgr. gave me the service free, was going to charge it to the service and let him pay the bill,Avg. cost per wheelie 55.00 .Also had about 2.5 miles added to milage,so just realy watch your 650 when in for service work. 2002 650 praire /2000 ds 650 /2000 250 trailblazer /97 yamaha blaster /86 250r and 350x 3 wheeler

supercrash,
I had basically the same thing happen to my HyperSport at a dealer I used to trust. I brought the quad in to have the starter looked at (the piece of junk starter only worked flawlessly for four years and then quit). While I was loading it I saw burrs on the back portion of the ***** of my Holeshot XCTs. It sure wasn't there when I brought it in. So, I'm lead to believe that someone was doing either burn-outs or doing a heck of a lot of black top riding on it. Needless to say I was pi$$ed, I turned back around, went inside and proceeded to raise holy heck with the owner of the shop. The owner (who took over for her husband who died in a motorcycle accident) was apologetic, but said there was nothing she could do. I told her that there is something I could do, like not take my quad there any more and to stop buying stuff from them. I walked out and will now have my HyperSport serviced by my girlfriends brother Steve (a polairs trained mechannic) who did my second rebuild.

I didn't have to worry about the service guy riding mine at the dealership when I took it back for the new axle because he lost my key the first day it was there! I always do the work myself, but Kawasaki wouldn't let me install the new axle. I really abused the original one without any incident. It is hard to find a place you can trust, for cars and trucks too.
