You need to go over to dirtrider.net. I think you would have a better chance of getting an answer? Chet

I'm trying to find the ideal bike for my wife, and it's between the KX 100, KTM 105SX, and Honda 150F. Did you buy the KX 100?

The Honda 150f is a 4 stroke right? THat soulds a lot better than a all-or-nothing lightswitch power of the KX100. The KX could get her in trouble quick is she is not a very good rider. If she is a good rider, the 4 stroke will still be much less tiring for a long ride.

i would look at maybe a ttr225 for her. i think that is what they are made by yamaha. those are 4 stroke, nice cruisers, and about in the same power range of the 100 2 strokes. i dont think puttin the wife on the 2 stroke is such a good idea unless she is a pretty aggressive rider.

I somewhat agree, but the 150F is 65lbs heavier than the KX100, which is a lot more weight to be throwing around. If I get a KX100 I would want to put on a heavier flywheel, gear it down for trail riding, soften the valving or the let out some fluid in the shocks to soften it up so it's not harsh in the woods. I like the idea of having the better componentry on the KX100 versus having older style forks and drum brakes. Plus it has a lot more ground clearance.

Do you guys think with my adjustments it could be a pretty forgiving trail bike?

Chris
