stebob,
I can't seem to find a web site or any info on the xtreme machine x90.
Do you know of any site or dealer info?
Thanks

Gaff, Go to xtremeatv.com. They are now called a 90 Tantrum. This does not look quite like Christian's so I say his is a '00. There it is though. The new ones look kinda like a 400ex, with the dual front round lights anyway. Christian's looks kinda(used loosely) like a Warrior. The is the closest I can think of what it looks like. To be quite honest I have not had much time to do a lot of research on the machine he is getting.

The ITP Holeshots are not a real good mud tire. They will cake up and get slick in certain types of mud. I have not regret buying them at all, in hard pack or semi-soft they HOOK UP like glue. They also take out the "wiggle" you feel in the back end.
I have rode(you can't call the way I ride "Racing&quotLOL ,at Loretta Lynn's GNCC the last 2 years. I plan on taking the Quad to Florida this year on vacation and maybe ride(race) Okeeobee and then Macon on the way home.
The bad thing about racing a Lakota in a GNCC is they put you in a class I believe they call Utility Unlimited, because of the chain drive. That class is known as the "Polaris Class" because that is where all the Scrambers end up. Them guys turn track times ALMOST as fast as the PRO'S!
Remember , you will need a kill switch. I would also recommend a cammel back.
Have fun, and do not burn yourself out. Two hours is a lot longer than you think!

thanks stebob, I'm going to check them out.

nthewnd, I would like to hier more about your gncc experience.
Although I lived in south flarida for fourteen years and been to okachoabee many time I never raced thier.
I don't know how they will class us on the 01 models, so far every were I've been they flat out told me that it was not a lakota.
So I Don't know how it will be, I'm the only one I know who has a lakota and haven't seen another yet.
I will deffinately be at macon, actually I can make it to n.c, s.c., and tennessee.
But going to macon and see if I can make two hours is my only goal thus far.

gaff- not much to tell. Loretta Lynns is only 50 miles from where I live. Some guys I know had been after me to go there to race. Last year I finally went. I had only a couple of goals. To finish, not get hurt and have fun. I had such a good time I made a point to go this year.
The only advice I can give is what I have already said. I like the way I have set up my Lakota. PRM skidplates, ITP steel rims , ITP tires, kill switch(required). Everything else is STOCK and reliable. I am waiting to here from 98Lakota to see how he likes his works shocks. That
might be my next improvement.

stebob-the short story on the 2 modded bombs, no contest on the 800 ft. drags. closer on the 300. No changes at the track, but we need to. Soon i hope, need to find the time. The house is 97 percent finished. Filled the pool up 12/6, started on the 16th of november, that project went pretty fast. The plater needs to cure a week before we can heat the pool or hottub.

Riding with your kid will be a blast and worry you at the same time. 1000 times more entertaining than mcdonalds play ground. The guys that i ride with some at the dunes have two boys cubby's age so i told cubby next time he can go. I need to find him a better machine than his badger. Looking foreward to a review of christians machine. Cubby has outgrown his badger but i don't think he is ready for a blaster. Season grettings to you and your family.

nthewnd,
Thanks, I intend on having the time of my life.
I have a few mods, but not the ones I need to go thier, but coming soon.

stebob, I viewed the web site, nice looking machines.
They didn't have any prices nor dealer locations. It seems some of thier site is under construction.
I would like to look at thier 100cc model as well.

14, kasea and a few others have a 150cc on a blaster frame that may interest you, and the xtreme machine has a 100cc machine.
The extreme machine's 100cc comes on the 90cc frame, so if it's physical size that needs improvement, this wouldn't be for you.
While I have you here my head still bounces the handle bar issue, the hieght of the lakota's are 4 3/4" with a 3 1/2" pull back, the 300ex bars are 6 1/4" high with a little over 3 3/4" pull back, the 400ex has 5 1/2" high with a 3 1/2" pull back.
Renthal carries them, and I would like some one to come up with a comment, and sence you put it in my head and I can't get it out, how about it.
And any lakota guys your comments are more than welcome.

Hi Guys, Thought I had better jump in and get to know everyone. I'm the sleeper that Gaff was referring to. I just got my Lakota for an early Xmas present from my wife (ain't she great!) so I'm still in the process of adding the mods. I emailed Gaff and he has provided alot of info on the mods and parts needed. Looking forward to the Louisiana trip and riding some with him. The beers and food is on me.

So far I have been impressed with the handling capabilities of the Lakota but agree that it could use a little more omph in the horsepower department. This machine would be great with a 400cc class engine.

I found a great place to ride yesterday! It's called The Cycle Ranch and its located 6.5 mile south of Post Texas on Hwy 669 or 45 minute drive from Lubbock Tx.. It consists of 2500 acres that contain over 64 miles of marked and groom trails and who knows how many that are not on the map yet. Terrain is like a mini Grand Canyon as it sits on the canyon breaks where the Caprock (a geological formation that runs from Amarillo to Big Springs) drops off. I rode all day and was able to only see part of it. They allow camping and have a few electrical hook ups as well. It is kinda pricey at $40.00 a day but for the quality of riding terain that you get it is worth it. Jumps, hills, mud, a flowing sandy stream bed,ATV for rent, Guided tours, It doesn't get much better than this. They accept motorcycles, ATVs, and BMX riders. They have racing there and will be holding a National meet there this next year. Its best to call before making plans and they can be reached at the following numbers: 806-799-2404, 806-790-9812, 806-799-2335 fax. RKKirkx4@aol.com

Give this place a try, you won't regret it.

Thanks to all for all the info that I have gained from the posts on this great sleeper quad. Keep em coming!

Planned Mods:
Super Trapp IS2D Exhaust
13T Sprocket
K&N Power Kit
134 Main
489 XTs on Douglas .190 rims

Best Regards and Happy Holidays to All

Season's greetings to you and your family as well 14. Thank you.

Happy Holiday's to everyone elso too for that matter!!

Gaff, I have heard a lot of people putting Raptor bend bars on 400ex's and Banshees. You may want to look at the dimensions for that bend and see what you think. I too would like to replace my bars. They have been bent a few times and I'm sure they are weak. I like Renthal and Tag but I'm like you, not sure what bend to go with.

For anyone interested I have a cool picture of a Lakota with shaved fenders. If I'm not mistaken it's 98Lakota's, sorry 98 I can't remember if it's your or not. It's looks pretty good and a few ideas for weight savings. If you guys want to see it let me know and I'll email it to ya.

stebob,
I have seen the raptor bars, I don't know the dementions, but they are very high.
The 300ex bars (250ex has same bars) look like the rite hieght but I wanted about 5 1/2" to 5 3/4" pull back.
I was also looking for a 32" width.
I believe the lakota has a 30 1/2" width.
I found renthal makes some in the ex demensions, they also make a atv one good higth but narrow.
MSR makes a pare of ATV sport bars but 7 5/8" high, this sounds like the raptors size.
MSR makes another ATV high bend that is the dementions that I like, but thier carbon steel.
Who knows, I guess sooner or later I'll be the ginney pig and blow the $60 bucks and tell you all what not to get!!
I would like it if you sent me 98's picture, I haven't tackled the wieght loss issue yet.

I hope you all have a graet holiday season, and hopefully all your wifes have a copy of Rocky Mountain ATV catalog!!!!!!!!!
