Anyone have their 650 in snow yet ?

waterville, They are 27"x11x12 rear and 27x9x12 front. They are almost new 10 miles at most. I thought they were getting to much traction and digging in to quick. I didn't like the way they handled high speed sport riding mostly and am looking for a tire that will give me more traction than the stockers but also maintain the sport riding feel of the stockers. I also didn't like the weight of them. How many miles on the dirt devils? are they in good shape? How do they handle high speeds? How much do they weigh compared to the 589's? I may be interested in trading even if they are in good shape with no wear.

You wanted to now the distance from the ground to the bottom of the foot peg on my 650 with the 28in Outlaws and 2in lift. Well I am around 15 1/2in of clearance at the peg I hope that helps you. Great tires work very well who cares about the weight at least they're not as heavy as Vampires not nearly.

My lift kit I made myself as I am a welder/machinist although Highlifter has a unit that will bolt onto the kawi but I didn't like it as it only raises it by 1&1/4in.. I made the reat unit like bolt would fit into a socket there by giving the shock more stability. The rear shock is singually bolted in the rear and I made the adapter to fit over the top of the shock by 2in. and then fit into the originale mount for the shock. I turned down the adapter out of 5053 Aluminum then milled out the centre and the top of the adapter so it would fit in space for the shock itself. For the front you have to remove all the plastic on the front of the bike to get to the shocks. With the front shocks there is a bolt on top of the shock so an adapter has to made that will allow the shock to bolted to it and have a bolt on top to insert into the original mount. Highlifters is only still 1&1/4 tall as where mine is a full 2in. So far it doesn't seem to bother the geometry of the bike even on off cambers mostly because of the width of the 28in Oulaws. Unfortunetly I didn't take any pictures as I did'nt now it would work and there is lot of work to take it apart especially the front.
You say you like to play in the snow, you might be interested in a set of tracks for your bike. I am now working on a set that will bolt onto the Kawi and pretty much any bike for that matter. Send me a personal note and I will give you my E-mail for further info.

I tried to take my 650 with mudzillas on it in the snow, but we only had a couple on inches. I don't think that is what you are asking about. The ice in top of 6" deep puddles was kinda fun for they guy in front. I went through some deep, stinky, black, swampy stuff. Lucky I had on my knee high rubber boots.
I keep breaking the black plastic trim on my front fenders on trees. It is not that I am a bad driver, but a lot of trails around here have downed wood, narrow pathways between trees and such and you have to crash over and through things a bit. I got a stick jambed in between the tire and the rim. Tire stayed pumped up though.
