I have a 86 LT250R. I ride hard and mess around at the track. I am thinking about trading my quadracer for a Tecate. Do u guys know any problems or reasons i should not make the trade?

Unless this Tecate has been well taken care of all it's life, I would stay away from it. If you thought finding performance parts for first generation Quadracer was hard, just wait till you start looking for Tecate hop up parts. Not only that, but roughly over half of the OEM parts have been discontinued as well.

hay knows a lot, haven't seen you around much lately.
I would buy a tecate 4, but I would also buy a quadracer, whats wrong with yours that you want the tecate over it.
The parts are slim, but still can get them, for how long I don't know!!!!!

if the tecate is in good shape and the motor is solid, i sa go for it. also check the shocks and make sure they are useable. personally, i would rather have a tecate than a 250R, IF parts were as plentiful as they are for the R. if you can afford to get a new suspension setup, and go through your motor good, you'll would be EXTREMELY pleased, but it may take a while to get parts for it,,, you can find parts, it just takes patience.

I Tecate 4 is a great bike!! Tons of fun and very fast. I had a good friend that owned one and he loved it. When people say it is hard to get parts for however, that is an understatement!! There is NO plastic available for these quads ANYWHERE...only if you can find it used. At least half if not more of the oem parts are discontinued. My buddy finally sold his as it was just too tough to get parts for. Good luck!!

uuuhhh river racer....you can easily get the rear fenders for the Tecate however good luck trying to get the front fenders or the hood. They have been discontinued by both Kawasaki and Maier. Not trying to be a jerk just letting this guy know that these parts are not available new and are getting harder to find used every day.

Thanks for the info. I have conducted a thorough search to see who has parts for them. I have found little parts all over. Not many, though. Its a tough descision, I still dont know what to do.
