Does anyone have a one of these dampners or know anyone that has used one? How do they work and are they worth the money? Thanks

I would like some info on them as well. I can't find anyone who makes a dampner for the Mojave or Lakota. I guess we will just have to buy one and make it work.

Is that 250r shock on your MoJo standard length or no-link style?

98 Lakota, to tell you the truth I'm not sure about the rear shock, I think its standard lenght. I didn't know that 250rs had standard and then no-link. I bought it on ebay but the bottom mount is made like a U so I think its for a link style. I have a question for you about your works shocks. I just installed mine(finally arrived) Do you find they "top out" easy. I have them set at the second clip down and when I lift you can hear them top out. Will this go away once they "break-in" Is the clip the only adjustment on those shocks? Thanks alot. Oh yeah the 250r shock is an awesome replacement shock if your looking to save a few bucks, comp dampening, rebound, and preload. Works great.

All shocks will do that when you get the weight off the wheels. The Works are just much smoother than the stock shocks which makes it more noticable.

If you bought the AT Steelers with no res., the clip position is the only adjustment you have. My shocks have the threaded preload and remote reservoirs. I can turn the preload **** and adjust it without moving the clip. Once you get used to them, you will love them. Last Sunday I raced my first race since getting the shocks, and it feels like a completely different bike. Now I just need to find a rear shock.

Hay,
My brorher has a 250R shock I could get for free, now I put out a thread to see if it would fit, now I got alot of no answers and then one that said a no link rear would fit.
Now whats the deal, does it fit or not, man this is a graet savings for me, and if it's that good I could just get a front set when I get the money.
98lakota,
How did the new engine rebuild work out in the race, noticeably stronger, how much did it help getting you towards the front. I'm assuming this was a XC race

Gaff,
The motor was great. I started dead last in my class (23 riders)due to a bad decision on where to line up in the 6" of mud, but I was able to work my way up to 12th. I was able to keep up with and pass some of the 400's; I could power throught the mud unlike I ever could before, and feathering the clutch would bring the front end up line never before. The extra power and smoother ride made it much more enjoyable.

98Lakota, that is an impressive run, coming from 23rd to 12th is tough, I and you know this is a real tough challenge.
I'm real happy to hier your success, it pumps me up for my future runs.
I think this dampner is a out standing purchase, probably get a little more stamna from not having to fight the bars and trying to squeeze the hand grips off, if ya know what I mean.
This is awsome. I'm still keeping my eye on your series up that way and if I have a open weekend, I'll probably run up there.
My intentions of making some GNCC races are fading quickly, atleast the first few.
I've put so much load on my self finances and bikes blowing engines is killing me. I received the 322 kit at home, although I won't make it thier untill tomorrow, I just have to put it aside.
Not only has my sons motor blown due to water, my nephews has blown from an intake air leak. Well so much for hondas bullet proof reliability.
What have you seen on cams, mickey has offered me the one he has, but says his does not require heavy valve springs. I spoke with a feller who says he has a 400 stroker kit, but I have to wait and talk to him again to see were he got his cam from, he told me but I can't remember, TC, CT, or tom carsons.
Web says they haven't done one before, 14mins told me he had a web cam, but it was mild, so I just have so many questions about the cam issue.

I haven't looked into cams yet, but that will be next. I have heard that Web makes one for the Lakota, but I don't know anything about it.

I hope you are able to get up to Loretta Lynn's GNCC in April. There are several of us "first timers" going to run that one.

If things get down a little I'm going to put any traveling races off and make that one. stebob has shown interest in that one as well. I have his phone # at home I'll call him and ask if he can start planning.
I contacted TCand CT, I found out that feller was full of it, darn kids they just mess with ya, a stroker 400 lakota, I must be a idiot.
I talked with 14min, and he has a web cam, he also told me that it was quite mild, and that it had to be done twice. My concerns are to get it done the first time and have it done rite. Mickey said he had them but it was a special order deal, so I'm going with mickeys. FST and web both want $150 for it.
Don't worry about loretta lynns I'll be thier.

Sorry tp the mojave guys did not intentionally mean to mess up your thread
