o yea i forgot to add. i need alot of info on mojave because i think there pretty good. can you test drive one if you 14 years old? i know you should be 16 to operate one though. i am crazy about ATVs!!!! i dont hunt or anything like that. i just like to free ride on flat ground or in small hilly places.

The mojave is a great 1st quad....but not for $4000!! I just saw one on sale at my local dealer BRAND NEW for $3800 and have seen them for sale anywhere in the $2000 range depending on year, condition and mods it may have. Hell, I saw an '87 a few weeks ago for like $1400! Which isn't so bad considering Kawasaki hasn't changed a damn thing on it since it came out that year besides colors! It's fast for a 4 stroke 250 and can be modified as you get better.
Personally, My first quad was a '87 Blaster when I was 14 even though I've always been kind of a Team Green guy. I sold my '86 KX 80 and added the rest with my dad's help to get the Blaster for $1899 (ahhh the good ol' days!!) I thought about a Mojave and really wanted a Tecate 4 but my dad said the Mojave was too much money ($2699) and the Tecate 4 was just plain too much ($2899 and WOW!!). Well, I'm 29 now and got one anyway! Take THAT, dad!hahaha!
But seriously, I'd check out the Blaster too. Like the Mojave, it's the same machine as back in '87 (except the damn price!) and it's unchanged because it's a good quad and is still the best value out there. It's got a smaller more nimble feel (good for you) and plenty of power and even more potential (check out vengaracing.com for hop-ups!)...don't get brainwashed by magazines always ravving about 4 strokes. If the government weren't forcing 2 strokers out the door by 2006 (I believe) companies like Kawasaki, Suzuki and Honda wouldn't have stopped developing them back in the day and magazines wouldn't call these new quads like C-dales and Raptors "high performance". These new ones today woulda been just "sport/recreation" back then like the Mojave, Quadsport and 250X were. It's taking these new high tech, BIG-engined 4 strokers we're seeing today to keep up (finally!) with 12-15 year old 2 stokers. And the Mojave ain't one of them!! There's tons of hop up potential for a Blaster and after market parts are easily available. It's no 250R, Banshee or Tecate but it'll keep you busy. I just rode a slightly modified one the other day...they're still a lot of fun! Look into it!

Wazzzzzzzzzupface, have you ever driven a manual transmission before w/ a manual clutch? do you understand how it works? The Lakota (almost like a mojave but less sporty) has an automatic clutch. If you want an auto tranny w/ no shifting I'd see if Polaris still makes any. They did last I checked (like 13 years ago!!).

wazzupface,
a manual clutch, you pull clutch lever with left hand, shift with foot.
an auto clutch, you just shift with foot (let off gas).
an automatic, you don't shift (unless stopped, shift low, high, reverse).
Automatics are always in the right gear, sometimes they are not as fun as manuals.
Auto clutches are just plain not as fun as the other two, but a really easy to ride.
Manuals are most fun, get the best gas mileage. You should get a friend to help you learn to drive a manual shift.
Get the quad you want. Don't get something auto just because you don't know how to drive a manual. Get the most appropriate quad for the trails you will ride.
