Went out for a ride the other night with the boys. We got into some serious trail riding then we found some serious mud. The mud (or as we call it swamp sh-t)was over my rack.I was the only one to make it across out of 4 machines including a 500HO.
When I was unloading my 650 I noticed the 2wd & 4wd displays were flashing back and forth. I took the belt cover off asuming I took on some water. It was clean and dry.So then I took apart the kebc. The gears and everything looked good and the wire conections were good. I put it back together and still nothing. I took the round housing off the kebc drive motor and GENTLY moved both brushes back and forth to make sure they were moving freely. Put the cover back on and it is working great.
Just thought I wound share this with you so if it ever happens to anyone you could try this as it would only take a minute to do.When the kebc is not working you can't ingauge the 4 wheel drive which could realy put a screw into a weekend trip.

when you have the belt cover off do NOT turn the key on because the KEBC actuator will extend out, making the 2wd/4wd light flash.
