I haven't heard much about the 2 stroke ban for some time but what you say could hold some truth. I know that Calif. was discussing this ban some time back but I haven't really kept up with it. As far as the prototypes that William is racing, they still have a few bugs in them that need to be worked out. Being good friends with both Bill and William has given me the opportunity to ride the prototypes several times and for the most part they work well. After all, they are pretty much identical to my Roll bikes with the exception of the motors. Vibration seems to be the biggest hurdle that has to be overcome at this time. A direct bolt in of the KX250 motor will not work. Also, a new frame will have to be developed. To use the Roll frame they use on the prototypes would not be financially feasible. I hope they do produce this bike at some time in the future. Any time we can get one of the big four(five, six, etc.) to intorduce a new performance machine like this it becomes a winning situation for everyone involved in the sport.

I can't see there being a ban on 2-strokes because GAS GAS is making a 300 2-stroke for the public to buy. Unless that ban applies only to the Japanese models?

Even if the 2-stroke ban is coming, wouldnt a manufacturer stand to make more money now off a 2-stroke by saying that it could be limited time production because of the ban? Everyone and their dog would wanna get one before they arent made anymore. They wuld be like a 250r. I dont think they are gonna ban owning them right? Just making them, kinda like assault weapons? You can own one, they just cant make them anymore?

Why do people think Kawasaki will finally see the light with a 250 2-stroke and begin production when they abandoned the kxf250 after the `88 model? This quad was a serious contender and who knows what might have happened if they continued to improve on it. Honda kept up with the 250R and it`s the most popular sport 4-wheeler of all time! Kawasaki has laid down the past 12 years and it will be a tough climb to get on top. I hope I see the day when it happens. 88 TECATE-4 86 TRI-z250 86 ATC250-R 96 LAKOTA

Sorry I havn't gotten back but I have been to a GNCC this weekend. As far as the 2 stroke ban, it is not a ban for the sale of 2 strokes. What we are talking about is the state of Calif. banning 2 stroke sales for everything except closed course racing. If you live anywhere other than Calif. then you have nothing to worry about.
