but not only on the mojave my freinds old ex kept up with the mojave on the track then the bottom fell out of his front shock the thing just let go pushing it out of the shop not even riding so he got some works
two weeks later back shock gone all spring not oil cracked his frame in like 3 spots and once the cracks start they never stop

Tom, I had forgot about the soft valve thing. I replaced them when I replaced the cams because they were pulling through the head. Ask around at independent shops that work on atv's and any mechanic that has been around a few years will agree with the problems I have stated.
As much as I despise 400ex's (the reason I built the 410x), I would buy one of them before I bought a mojave.
I also like the looks of the rounded 250x instead of the flat mojave. The honda also has many more aftermarket parts. The gas tank isn't as wide. The 300ex seems easier to ride to me.

Well i would buy a 400ex over a mojave also if it wasn't for that 1500 price difference, the 400ex and the kfx400 list for the same price so as for as thet goes i would take the kfx over the 400ex, I tried riding the 400ex and i was much more confertable(sp) on my mojave. I have never ridden a 300ex though but it probley is very similar to the 400ex. so i would go with the mojave over the 300ex. thats just my opinion though. I have to admit though the 300/400ex looks alot better than the mojave.

Why buy a new mohave or 300ex when you can get a used 400ex that is only a couple years old for the same (or less) price? Stock 400ex's are very reliable and there are a ton out there. Used ones are going pretty cheap now that the kawi 400 and z400 are coming out.
Mohave side note: I remember seeing a review in the back of an atv mag that had a kit that would eliminate the mohave kickstart bushing problem before it happens.
<< Mojaveman1, FST took out my thermostat and straightwired my fan. When my cylinder was bored, it made the water jakets a little thinner than they were. This helps it stay cool. FST kept the fan on. >>
Lurch, I'm surprised that FST completely took out your thermostat instead of replacing it with a cooler one. I've heard that taking the thermostat out actually can make your engine run hotter because the coolent flows so fast. When the coolent is flowing fast, it doesn't pull heat away as well. I've never seen any actual data to support this, but this is what I've heard in the past.
