When I re-shimmed my driven pully I used an impact gun to remove and replace the bolt with no ill effects. However I did set it at its lowest pressure when reinstalling.

With any nut or bolt that has locktite on it just heat it up with a small propane torch just enough to make it hot then let it cool it will come off so easy it will blow your mind. Locktite was developed for the military as every fastener would come undone from the vibration. Tanks were notorious for such embarassing munouvers when something important would fall off right in the middle of battle and so on. It was made so when a little heat was applied it would loosen it's hold on the surface applied to.

The red stuff is nasty to remove without an impact or heat where as the blue stuff will break loose with a good tug. Try a little heat wont hurt nothing really!!! :}
