I put on the new choke cable. I didn't see a difference between the new one and the old one. I know the old one was bad because I verified the sticking once I had the quad apart. Now the quad doesn't smoke any more with the new cable in.

Did you guys notice a difference between the old cable and the new one??

Thanks

Good to see ya on here again. You was the one we all ask questions to when I first signed on, we could use your wisdom on here more often again. I haven't changed my choke cable, but I have 720 miles on it and everything still seems to run like new except that belts squeals on take off. Another thing is that when I first got it I had to give a little throttle to crank, but now it cranks without having to, hot or cold.

Is the reason your new cable slide easier because it is made differently/better?

Did you just ask for a new cable, or is there a special part number you need?

Thanks Daniel,
I haven't touched the quad this year until recently. I'm slowly getting back into it. I need to find some people to ride with.

Nyroc,
The new cable had a sticker on the bag with the new part #. Now that it's back together I haven't tried to work the choke with the handle since I broke the handle accidentally and have to order a new one. When I used the pliers to work the assembly it seemed to work a little better.

Thanks guys

I didn't take the time to see exactly where the old one was sticking. I have not yet ordered the new springs yet. I do need to order a new handle though.

jeffoxsr I think I went over this with you before a couple of weeks ago yes. Just for a refreshor the cable liner is different more flexible and the bend to the carbs is slightly different, I think a little longer to boot. Here are the spring numbers again if you wish they are from a KLR bike a little longer, thicker wire and work well. They are

16C063
920B1-1720 Called a SPRING PLUNGER

Here are some other numbers you may as well have them all

BB01000 3349551
16.17.41 0111

I hope this helps keep the sunny side up and yes it is nice to see you back on the forum.

How do you get this cable? Do you just ask for a stock choke cable (54017-1219) and this is what you get from the dealer, or do you have to ask for something special?

Thanks guys,
To get the new cable I called kawi customer service. After telling them my story they reluctantly said they'd pay for the new cable. I called the dealer and gave the dealer the kawi rep phone number. That's it.
