Erlandson "black spring"--- Has anyone else noticed..........

I did get the red spring from EPI. The cost was $19.95 and very much worth its money "to me" anyway. nyroc is right though, the take off is what I would discribe as voilent as compared to not having the red spring in when giving it WOT. It has a hesitation to it, an when it engages IT ENGAGES!! The best I can discribe the hesitation as, think of a manual shift atv, hold in the clutch and rev the engine,...it revs freely, then you POP the clutch and it either takes off normally, spins the tires, or does a full "flip" possible wheelie. This is a perfect example of what the 650 "or atleast mine" is capable of doing and this is with 27" 589s on c-series wheels.
Some may not like it because they are not used to it. When I first put it in I gave it gas and expected it to move but it didnt and I said WTF!! When it did move it really moved. After I got used to giving it a little more gas and expected it to move then, instead of creaping up on it, it is much much better now. Its a matter of personal preference but I can tell you the performance is much better with the red spring than the stock one. Also on another note, it does not have any adverse effect at all on engine braking. If anything it helps it.
Also, the take off "CAN" be smooth, just dont creep up on the gas till it engages, get used to giving it the right amount of gas until it engages. Then, you will have a smooth take off every time. If you give it a chance and ride it for several minutes you wont be disapointed. nyroc you should give it a try.

Yeah if you stop, start, stop, start it might get pretty annoying. I learned by riding a lot yesteday that if you keep the atv barely moving with the rpms built up it will creep alone. Which is the same as you barely giving yours gas and it moves, only difference is Im barely moving at the same speed you are but Im at a higher rpm. LOL hope this makes sense.
