The prarire has gps??? I never quiet understood how gps works, can you just mark a spot or can it really help you get out of the woods if you got lost?

no the 659 does not have gps , its a hand held gps and i want to download it to computer. Have downloaded Oziexplorer program from internet, but now found it might not be as flexable as i would like, as in not too user friendly.
Will try another program today, refuse to buy unless its what i can use.
strange enough have lived in woods all my life and still have no real since of direction, allways looking for sun, landmarks ,and compass for directions. Allways exploring new areas and find gps saves a lot of backtracking. Olso great for finding areas on aerial photo's and maps. dont leave home without it.

Tommy84 GPS has got to be the second best thing there is and the first I am working on that via Roscoe's suggestion. I don't now what system you are using Roscoe I have the Magellan 315 it has lots of features a little tricky to use but works well. I have talked to a fellow who uses a program for his computer he downloads the cooridinates to the computer and visa versa. The total cost is around 276 Canadian and it has maps for the States as well. It is just a street map program but will handle GPS Latitude and Longitude and is a 50,000 to 1 format ideal for the GPS. There is another program for the computer greater detail shows cutlines, tributories way more exspensive. The program is $100 and there are some 40 map sections each section for Alberta is $100 so it can add up pretty fast unless you get the ones you want. Map Town has them in Edmonton.

Unfortuneatly the P650 doesn't have GPS you will have to purchase that yourself. There are all good brands out there probably the easiest to use, has larger screen easier to read is the Garmin. E-trex will get you by and is affordable works well also it's just the amount your pocket book can handle. When traveling in the bush this instrument is invaluable you can make a hundred turns get twisted around and still find your way out. Your memory is good after some time one tree looks pretty much the same as another.

Roscoe I am working on another system for the nitrous delivory to make it more idiot proof. The way I have it rigged It is hard to watch a tach and the road at the same time. Don't want to blow the bike up and tires are far too expensive to replace each time I use it. Mind you a tire guy told me to he used to use brake fluid on the beads on some tires that wouldn't seal. Sort of melts them to the rims, I told him I didn't have any problem melting my tires to the rim. Just keeping the tire to the rim was the problem LOL>. Have fun talk to you later.

Garmin gps 38, works great , does everything i want. program i am using does not go down small enough for the plotting i need. Will try to down load a map tomorrow at work and see if that helps and maybe a aerial photo. The packake deal comes with maps, will call supplier in calgary to see if it will give me the size's i want.
Now im downloading fugawi program to have a look at it to see its features.
