Some folks on this site has mentioned they have replaced their choke springs on their 650 with heavy duty ones. I have not been able to find these springs in the service manual. Does anyone have a picture of them on the carbs? Where are they located(other than on the choke!)? I would like to replace mine as a preventative measure. Any help greatly appreciated.

I took my 650 in a while ago. The problem was the choke cable was too short. They replaced the cable with a new one (I think longer) under warranty.

If you do a search through the past posts I am sure you can find details. Here is what I have posted over the past the springs are from a KLM motocross bike from Kawi and work perfectly. You will have to remove your carbs or if your bike is new and you have waranty have them do it. If not this is what you do. Remove the carbs take off the choke cable you will find a needle like plunger with a rubber boot attached. Pull back the boot and expose the spring. Pull back the spring take off the needle plunger it is attached by spring friction tension. Remove old spring, install new spring, install needle plunger again push up rubber boot. Ready to reinstall plunger in carbs make sure you pull on choke lever on handle it will collapse the spring making it easier to refit. Hope this helps oh yes I bet you would like the numbers for the springs.
