Project Tecate 4....all input welcome!

ALSO, the reason I questioned putting a stock ignition ans flywheel back in is because it's heavier and would make the power more tractable. I just don't know how much. and for the timing. Maybe stock timing is better. I'm sure considering the other mods.
I forgot about compression ratio. It's pretty high stock...I think. So I don't whether raising it more is a good thing.

well thats quite a mouth full and i think i can easily achieve exactly what you want.
the timing deal, well i think you would benefit more from a little more advanced timing and a flywheel wieght on your pvl.
yes more cc's will help with torque, i would go with the 265 kit.a bigger carb, you currently have a 36mm pwk not a 35mm.
do you have a stock tecate 4 pipe? if not i could sell you a nice one cheap. with the motor that you're loking for a i think the stock pipe would work best for you.
and guess what i got just today? i got a good old klemm research pipe and silencer.i have never had the chance to use one or test one yet. so i'm going to be doing some testing on this pipe to see where it makes it's power.
you know what i can probably get you more power that you want out of your existing combination if i could have some time to dial it in and make a few changes like jetting, timing, carb size and so on.then you can save a few bucks by not having me tear into the motor.and doing a complete rebiuld.

I live on Wallenpaupack off goose pond. Actually, I have a Lake Ariel mailing address here at the house. I'm sure that if I've never seen you before we know common people. It's a small area! Where are you at?

36mm carb? hhmmm. If that's the case, Corey sold me the wrong size. BUT, I remember the package said PWK 35mm and that's the production carb...I'm sure of that. I should get a ruler and measure it.
Don't get me wrong, the Tecate's fast. I think I have it dialed in right...I think. It doesn't really sputter or stumble. but I could be wrong. For starters, I think I'm going to order the Pros Series carbon reeds from Boyesen and put them on the stock cage. From what I've studied, I think it'll help.
No, I don't have a stock pipe. 3 pipes, none stock. Would that Klemm pipe be for sale or is that just for you?
As for the 265 kit. It sounds like a cool idea. I'm interested. But the idea of ripping the motor out and packing it up just drags me down. That's a pain! lol. I'd almost rather spend another $120-150 and just ship the whole friggin thing and get it back ready to go. I could throw in that stator and one blue side cover to offset the extra shipping costs. Pjax has good rates...less than $200 in most cases.

So, If I send the quad out to you, it'll take about a month to get it back, right? If that's the case, I'll wait til the winter sets in and I can't ride it anymore til spring. So that way, I'm in no hurry to get it back.

well you make the dicisions cause you're the one that has to pay for the stuff.i really think just sending the motor would be better, but if you wanna send the whole machine thats up to you i guess.i have no problem with it but it will be quite expensive i imagine.
