Mojave250 Wont Start (Carb Problem?)
Here is the situation:
I have had everything apart, the entire top end, carburator, and more. Everything is fine-tuned and adjusted within specs. Now, when I attempt to kick start it, the only way to get a respose is with the choke on. Even then, it still wont start. It just sputters once or twice and kills. If I push or pull start it (using another ATV) I can get it to start. Once it is running, the power is incredible. There is no hesitation at all. I even try to find that non-existent 6th gear. Anyhow, I can drive it for hours and it acts fine. If I shut it off (once its warm), it will start right back up with one kick and no choke.
It seems to me like a carb related problem, maybe having something to do with the plunger/rubber diaphram which could be streched.
Any questions, suggestions, or other ideas????????
-Thanks-

Well, I know what you mean by a ring being seized. That has happened to mine before with the compression rings. In the past, with a cylinder or valve problem its burnt oil, but this time its clean. I've had the cylinder apart recently to ensure that the rings are free, they are. The compression tester I use has been known to act up (wont always give an accurate reading). Right now it says 90-97 psi which is within specs. Does anyone know a great place to get a new one (or the adapter for the mojave size plug)?
When I get a chance I'll try to raise the valve clearance a bit and let you know what happens.....
