What is the best aftermarket exhaust pipe for the 650. I want a loud one. But i also want to be able to make it quiet.

i think pro circuit system it's high $ but for what's out there now looks the best i've got one ordered, but what i'm really waiting on is cdi kit it's going to be around $300 and you will get more bang for buck when that comes out the only reason i'm going to change my pipe now is i want to here some tail pipe tunes.

Is it real neccasary to get the whole exhaust or is a muffler plenty? Do you reall notice any difference?

As you can see in my sig. I have the Pro Circuit pipe. It is a perfect fit, sounds fantastic, and gives the 650 even more A$$ all the way through the throttle range. Installation took about 45 minutes from start to finish. If you order one don't bother ordering the Quiet Core. It's not any quieter, just makes it sound strange. If you run a spark arrestor the standard one is fine but the pipe works best with no spark arrestor. I have seen some of the muffler only kits (HMF) that don't fit up very well.

BTW - I just wanted to add this statement: You WILL wet your pants the first time you fire up that thumpin 650 after putting the pipe on!

Hey IBDAMIFIKNOW,

The guy to ask is most definately NOT the guy who has that damn shotgun on the back of his quad! Ask the guy who is behind him and having to listen to it........ME! Yes it REALLY sounds cool, and Yes, it damn near will make you wet your pants! (On the last ride, while I was stuck on the trail (See the post "P650 Owners, Watch out for this"), Partsman, another pal on a P650 with an HMF pipe, and another rider on a Vinson with an HMF all were approaching my position at a high rate of speed. I KNEW who it was and I still almost ran off into the woods screaming like a little girl!) Sounded like ROLLING THUNDER! Sounds rather "Harleyesque" when idling.

For the amount of money involved and the advertised power gains I would buy the HMF if I were going to replace the muffler.
