Rust on driven shaft 03' P650
Hi There,
I just wanted to let everyone know about what I found while installing the EPI Black spring in my 03' P650. I could not figure out why the driven clutch was so hard to remove until I got it off. The clutch i.d. was rusted onto the driven shaft. I don't know if anyone else has found this , but it is something to be aware of. Nyroc has pictures of this on his web sight now.(Thanks for posting them NYROC) I wanted to ride so I used fine steel wool to remove most of the rust and I greased the shaft well before assembly. The Black spring does make a great difference in the rideability of the machine. I also adjusted the belt deflection to 24mm. It was at 33mm from the factory. I noticed that the electronic braking system engages sooner(less freewheeling) when I let off the gas now. It took a ride to get used to but I like it better this way.
