CC1999:You say the Csieries wheels are real tuff.Have you tagged any rocks or anyting with them yet?I still have the stock wheels and tires, and have bent three wheels already, two bad enough to deflate the tires right away, and I only have 30 hours on my machine.90% of my riding is hard mountian riding and I'm scared of going to a cast wheel and having it break,at least steel wheels I can smash half round again and inflate the tire.Whats your opinion?

650Mountain, OMF also makes a very good beadlock rim. We have them on the 650 and they are the same as the ones you can see on Mike Penlands 650. We have bounced them off trees, gypsum rocks bigger than the 650 itself, rolled it and landed full force on the side of the rear rim and never bent them. The roll did bend the axle tho! OMF also makes a ring that you can purchase form them and either weld it in yourself or you can send in your rims to them and they can weld in the reinforcing ring for you or they can even make your rims into beadlock rims. We just got some ITP rims for the front of a Raptor, sent them to them and they made them into beadlocks and we have less than $350 into the rims. You can get ahold of them @ 909-354-8272. I think if I remember right the weld in rings are around $20.00. Hope this helps ya out.

Thanks guys, those both sound like good options for ending my wheel problems.Im gettin real tired of having to stop, beat the thing round again, then pump the tire back up before I can get back to riding.Anybody else out there having problems with the stock wheels?Im sure going to a tire with more than 2 ply sidewalls will help a bunch as well.

650mountain, thats what I mean, I have banged them many times on the rock and not a scratch. I have had ITP billets on a kodiak and currently have delta d's on my grizz. All the after market wheels that i have owned have gotten bent and dinged up on the rocks except the C series cast wheels. That why many times after banging one an a rock I check for damage and there never is even a mark on them. I ordered 2 sets of the new 10" cast ITP's for the Vforce one set for sand tires and another for the trail. I will never buy anything but cast wheels from now on.

650mountain,
I think your choice of tire is just as important as your new rims. Most of the new tires are designed to protect the rim and the bead also.
I run a set of c-series with ITP 589's and run some pretty rough terrain. The tires have a few scuff marks on them but the rims are like new. I'm sure that the rims would have taken quite a beating without the tires protecting them.
Just my 2 cents.

Scotia 650: Kinda figured tires would help with that, just not sure if I should put the new tires on the stock wheels or not, dunno if I can get approval from the ruler of the house to do both.Any body know if Mud Lites have good bead protection?

How do you like your mudlites and c-series? I want to get both but have questions on the off set.does this change the high speed handling? also i was thinking 25" to keep it sporty, i do a lot of fast hard pack trail riding. Should i go with the 26" with the more agresive tread and better clearance or would i lose a lot of performance. I appreciate any words of experience you can give me. thanks, mount

i haven't had them for all that long. so far so good. i dont notice any loss in performance so far. in fact the ride is better than the stockers. also, the front end dive is eliminated by these tires. imo, i would get the 26" for the deeper lug and better gc.
