Friday night I called Kawasaki HQ and was told that they have a 6 month 0, 0% thing going on right now towards the KFX/ (sport ATVs).
It isn't exactly a full year but it is better than nothing.

When did that 0/0/0 till Jan. '04 start? When I got mine in late December of last year I only got the 0/0/0 till July '03. The dealer screw me over or something.

No the dealer didn't screw you over you just should have waited til Jan. That's when their new promotion started! But you had no way of knowing.

So, I went to my local Kaw dealer here in Denver and told him I was on my way to Fremont Motorsports about an hour away and he would have to beat the $5299 +tax and doc fees I was going to get there. I told him cut to the chase, bottom line. He said $5250. I said big deal.
I know this is off the subject, but does anyone else find this a strange way of doing business? A local dealer offers a guy the same machine but at $50 less and one hours less driving and he's still not satisfied?
You hear this over and over on the forums "I drove 2 hours to dealer "X" to save $150 bux and now the local dealer won't sell me accessories at cost! What a scum the local dealer is!!!" Now I'm sure that there are bad dealers out there, but this subject gets brought up ALOT! In my case I could have saved $200 by driving 2 hours. That extra $200 spent at the local dealer bought me good prices on parts and accessories, "no questions asked" extended warranty coverage, and little or no waiting if I do need service. Plus a short drive to get there. Money well spent IMO.

Thanks to mostly all of you for yor words of advice, support and congratulation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought it at Fay Myers in Greenwood Village. I mostly ride on my property, and will go to Rampart Range.

Down here we live in a free-enterprise system, where the consumer is free to spend his money when and where he chooses. I suppose some might think this is strange, however, this way of negotiating and doing things entices the supplier or retailer to compete with others for business. Simply because I live in a certain area, I am under no obligation to spend my money at a local establishment.
Too bad I have already bought, because had you offered your peculiar spin on things and local dealer experience earlier, I would have not been against helping out the Canadian economy, considering "good prices on parts and accessories, 'no questions asked' extended warranty coverage, and little or no waiting if I do need service".

Your dealer, would, of course, have needed to beat my best price!!!!!

To each his own, I guess. In my case I prefer to consider the whole package, as opposed to the rock bottom, up front price. Good luck with the KFX400, JimT, it's definitely the sharpest looking steed in Kawasuki stable.
