Well got the 650 purring pretty good again, lean backfire was in the front carb, not the rear, would do it about 1/16th-1/8th throttle, just when the slides start the quiver or open, warmed it up until the fan came on to make sure it was at operating temp, shut it off and seated both mixture screw's then backed both out 3 turn's and started from there, let it idle and started on the rear carb, turned it out until it just began to idle down(rough) turned it back until it idled back up which was about 1/4 turn if that, then did the front carb the same way. purr's like a kitten......Both carbs are about 3 3/4 turns out, actually the front may be just a bit more than the rear,,,,O well that's where mine needs to be, all bikes are different, now when the temp warms up this spring/summer, I probably have to do it all over again beacause it may be too rich LOL,,, Thanks again and to everyone else that has the coughing when cold, try what i did and it will start and idle much better..........

Glad that helped you two carbs a pain but if you are willing to toil a little anything is possible. Fuel injection would save a lot of head aches although someone would need the full spectrum of timeing curves and ignition sequences that will be the next big improvement after Bearman's CDI.
Now that you have the tune up part of the carbs try some different jet combinations need some more help I will be glad to point you in the generall direction.

I finally got on the forum, had to find a name they'd let me use. I tried Kawidealer but they regected that one, they said it was because I used dealer in the name. Oh well. I got a new e-mail address if you want to send me the pics of your vents, it's naberkawasaki@sasktel.net
I was talking to the managment here today and it looks like we're going to set up some kind of discount online parts department. We'll let you know when we have the details worked out. We might go North America wide with this and not limit it to Canadians only (that is if kawi approves). This would work out great for the gents south of the border due to the dollar dif. That is if ther is enough interest to warrent this type of system. Everyones feedback on this would be great.
