FST Prairie 800---------YYEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!
#1
Got the March edition of Dirt Wheels and was reading up on Mike Shelley's 800 Prairie. EXTREMELY COOL!!!! The thing has so much power it can smoke the Maxxis All Traks on pavement with a twist of the throttle! It has dual exhaust, tricked out shocks, and a buttload of torque.
Four Stroke Tech built the engine for this quad as a prototype, so it won't be available to us, but you can get three different big bore kits consisting of a 715 kit, a 732 kit, and a 750 kit.
Big bore costs big bucks. All these kits are the same base price of $590. Mike's 800 also had the following toys added. Head work consisted of FSTs cross-country port and flow treatment for $500. Two cross-country cams were $300 with exchange and heavy duty valve springs were $190. Stock carbs were used with 165 main jets in both, and 2 White Brothers exhaust systems with equal 35 inch lengths were custom made to equallize the flow. Four 2 inch holes were drilled in the airbox and the timing was advanced six degrees. The rear shock was re-valved by Elka and adjustable Progressive springs were put in the front.
The test rider said this thing absolutely rocks!!!! You gotta check it out! Mickey Dunlap at Four Stroke Tech is the guy to get in touch with if you are interested in this. Ph. (814) 842-6159.

yea, rosco I've been debating between building the 650 from he// or buying the new KFX700, its about the same money, but you could almost make the 650 a sleeper...

Well the good thing about overbore kits if we ever had problems with pistons or bores we could install a kit, I wonder if this line would work for the wife. How does this sound , quote " wife, remimber how the sled cylinders were wore out and i had to get them bored out with new pistons, well i think the 650 needs a bore kit." I think i will run this by the wife
