Default reduction in engine braking with black spring

i took my prairie riding this weekend for the first time since i installed the black spring, i liked the way that it engaged and it seemed to fix the sqealing problem with the belt but, it weakened the engine braking a lot,i am wondering if this is the norm.

Default reduction in engine braking with black spring

I noticed the engine braking fade because of bigger tires, when i put the black spring in I didnt really notice a difference.and even with the fade the ebs is still better than the other off brands
