Just rode for the first time since doin the Nyroc thing to my muffler, checked the plugs and found to be lean. You guys have more exp with these carbs then me,do you think that I should do the shims as well as the 145 jet? Also, are you guys changing jets with the carbs on or off the machine, and whats the easiest way of gettin at the front spark plug? Thanks.

650mountain, pull the carbs out of your bike. If you have hands of any size, there is just about no way you can rejet your carbs with them still on the bike. While you have them off to rejet, you might as well shim the needles. It takes minutes and costs about $2.

I finally have my jetting spot on. 142F ,145R,Kehin jets
3 turns out on idle mix screws
1- .020 shim under each needle
no holes in air box lid,but I vented the snorkle cover at the front
checked the plugs after about 1/2 mile wide open, perfect tan color
Top speed, 68 mph
It was about 35 degrees and I ride at 1,300 ft
HOPE THIS HELPS
