My thoughts the V force is a good machine and suits some people but not all. Ill stick with the single cylinder its cheaper to mod and less expensive to fix.
People should just buy whatever suits them and have fun with it.

If you can't do a 20 mph punch on your Vforce, you need a new machine Kev. Why don't you try a little more body english or some slicks. All I have heard out of you posts is constant complaints about the front end. Why don't you trade for a Rancher if it is too much for you.

Other than that, I will be selling my Raptor, I like the Vforce that much better. Like I have said previously, this was only a base line test. I saw in the mags where it was close to 100mph, we all did. I also knew as well as everyone else that for liability reasons that would not be true.

Until you own one and can ride one properly, quit the complaining and what if scenarios. Man, this is old already!

I'm complaining because I own an auto that it clutched right and I know what it should feel like. Do you?

My Scrambler would smoke the 700 in a drag and I don't have any problem handling it.

I guess if you don't really understand how the autos work and can be tuned, you probably would be happy with a stock 700.

KingRaptor, Shotgun,
Excellent posts, potential is there. The 660 & DS were designed for quads actually I should step back a little at least with the DS. The motor for the DS is in a BMW sport bike and has been there for some time so it is a proven performer. All the 700 is, is a slightly performanced inhanced 650 with larger bore and bigger valves wich is very lacking on the 650. The 700 is only at 3/4 potential with these modest improvements. The DS in the BMW bike is rated at 105 hp at 14,000 rpm with a single sylinder so what kind of improvements are we talking about here. Either we the owners of quads in general are hooped by the manufactuers or government has a strangle hold on the ATVing ( dumber than a sack of hammers ) public. The after market people who sell us modds are loveing the government for imposing these restrictions on the manufactuers, a thousand dollars for shocks/springs, a thousand for cams/intake work, thousand for wheels/tires, what ever else can be redone. The thing we should be doing is going after the government and telling them to stay out of our business we can't do anything without some organization butting their heads in where they are not appreciated.

Demon,
There there is 2 ways, well, actually 3 ways to extend the swing arm 1 is to buy a after market one if they decide to do it wich is expensive. 2) The swing arm can be cut and extended by how much one determines it to be done this is the method I chose for my 650. 3) There is a joint at the drive shaft area where a new washer could be machined then install a longer drive shaft and this would be the less expensive of the three. Just a few thoughts from the cheap seats.

About the front end coming up, It is not like the Raptor doesnt have problems with that. In stock form the front never stays down. Especially when dragging. And i cant believe the predator has that much more power than a raptor. Ive dragged them and I didnt think they were any faster than i was stock. Stock HP doesnt really mean anything. All the bikes are fairly close at the high cc's.

What does matter is that fat poopy shaft drive. I like the idea of being able to get rid of that. I dont see why it needs two chains though. 150rwhp drag bikes do okay with a nice chain and sprocket. You could just get a larger scale chain and sprockets.

I dont think i will ever like the auto tranny though just for tough situations at the dunes concerning nasty holeshots. I dont see that working very well.

The Raptor is easily corrected as I notice you have a +4 swingarm.

Try calling Lonestar and getting one for a V-Force.

HI ALL:
Man is the 700 V-Force ever attracting alot of attention. For good reason I'd say. This bike has got to be an absolute animal! Before you Raptor,Banshee,Predator, and Ds guy's jump all over it...LISTEN UP!!! They are ALL animals! Every one of the flagship sport quads are wicked! Who can deny that? They are all so close in performance and speed it's not funny. Of course some are better at certain aspects than others...that doesn't make them bad by any means. Alot of people here are bashing the 700 saying it is too heavy, not fast enough, auto sucks, bla bla bla! Who out there honestly wouldn't want that awesome engine? Be honest with yourself and think...that 700 V-Twin in my bike Hmmmm...OFF COURSE YOU WANT IT! It's the best engine out there and the mod potential is SCARY! So it's auto and thats not for everyone...but don't knock it till you try it. When I first looked at buying a quad... my wife suggested an auto! I almost threw up to be honest...that is untill I rode a Kawi P650 and almost soiled myself! It (P650) is absolutely wicked, and a ton of fun, despite being auto. Matter of fact it's the current king of open 4x4's hands down! I for one would love to get my hands on the 700 V-force and it would be the bike I would buy without question. Alot of you so-called racers or whatever you want to call yourselves will never be able to ride like Bill Ballance or Gust or Yokely so why complain about a bike if it is not the best for an MX track? Most sport quads never see a Mx race track. The real world rides in trails and woods, dunes etc. and that ladies and gentlemen is where the V-Force will rule! As to some of the bashers who say it's not living up to it's billing...WHAT QUAD DOES? The Z400 was SUPPOSED to be as fast as a Raptor, The Predator in Polaris's own ads was SUPPOSED to be the fastest, The Honda Rincon was SUPPOSED to be the fastest( Utility) guess what? They are not! The sport quads are all supposed to be limited to approx 75 mph now according to something I read. So to expect the V- force to do 80+ stock is rediculous. ( can it be made to do it?...THEY ALL CAN! ) The after market is going to have a field day with the 700 as they do with the other sports...it's called making money. Come on guy's admit it...V-TWIN POWER!! , maintenance free brakes (The same as The P650... 6000-7000 miles before your first service!!!), Shaft drive, low center of gravity ( gas tank under the seat ala P650) and all the comfort of auto to boot...man this is a dream quad! FOR YOU NON BELIEVERS...
WAKE UP!!!

Well said, take a breath. He's got a point. I never would have thought of buying a belt/shaft driven sport bike, never! But the engine is pure magic. PLEASE don't knock this bike until you've taken one for a ride; a REAL ride. Not in some dealers dealers parking lot. Be open minded and I think you'll find that this quad will change your perceptions.

I know that the front end coming up is a easy fix on the raptor, thats one of the reasons i dont like the shaft drive. Much harder to extend the back.
