Black Spring and Belt Direction
Just an update for an FYI.
When I put the black spring in and took the shims out, didn't pay attention and put the belt back in backwards. Well, it was squeeling when idleing and I waited about 100 miles to see if it would go away, but it never did. This weekend, took the cover off to put the thin shim back in and noticed that the belt was backwards. To me, it looked bi-directional, but when I put the belt back in the right way, there was much better hookup and way faster takeoffs than when the belt was in wrong. I don't know why the difference, but for those who did it themselves and didn't pay attention, if you don't notice any difference, check the belt direction.
Again, just an FYI

is there an arrow on the belt showing the direction? the reason im asking is because the dealer put a new belt on mine and i would just like to check to be on the safe side. another thing, once you pull the cover off do you have to put anything on it to seal it up good so water wont enter it or are the bolts good enough?

Hey there, i got no pics but all i used is iron. For the back you take to two 2 inch by 4 inch peices of quater inch iron and for the fron you got to loosen the struts and put little spacers underneith the struts and put the bolt back in. I dont member how many inch tubing i used for the front struts. ALter, reply back
