Beardog,
Sorry, I missed your last post.
The lift was too easy to install, Highlifter makes some quality products, a little pricey but well worth it. The biggest trouble was removing the front rack & fenders to get to the top of the shocks. Total time was about 1.5-2 hours, front & back.
I love the way it works, I don't get hung up near as often as I used to and the handling is not that different from before. The 28's probably help keep it grounded better and I take a little care on off camber corners. The only drawback may be accelerated wear on the joints and boots because of the increased angle of the shafts, but I've had no problems or complaints yet whatsoever.
Hope you get this, sorry again.

Truimphdude I have not purchased any wheels or tires yet. I cannot decide and I am waiting on my tax refund. I am strongly considering 27"mudlites or 589's. I will probably go with 9" x 27"or 10"x 27" tires on the front and 12" x 27" on the rear. If any one out there knows the difference between the mudlites and the 589's I would like to hear from you. I will probably go with the C series alum. wheels.

I currently have Mudlites on mine and they are a good all around tire. Now if you are planning on doing a lot of mud riding they may NOT be the best tire. I like them and they do get me through all the mud holes I tackle but they are not "true" mudders. The lugs are not as deep or nearly as aggressive. I had Mudrunners on my Rancher and I feel they were a little better Mud tire and provided stronger traction in the real deep stuff.
Good luck

TDude,
I have two friends running ITP 589's on their 650's. 27/9/12 fronts & 27/11/12 rears on stock wheels, no lift. They have no clearance problems at all. If your considering these tires in 28's and c-series wheels and don't want to put the lift on, let me know and I'll try the setup on their bikes to see if it will run without any problems.
