My 650 is piped,jetted etc. and I ride about all different throttle, light and slow and hard and fast, my reserve light almost alway's comes on at about 60-62 miles, I have rode 72 miles before and did not run out..........

 

My light comes on at 60 miles. Average trail riding.

 

It's looking like 60 miles is the magic number.Better carry fuel..................could be embarrasing being towed by a brand x just because of fuel LOL

 

ive gotton 127 miles on a tank. filled to top.high gear easy riding 25-30mph speed

 

I would agree with the 60 mile concensis, and add this: When "reserve" is reached; flashing single bar (and by the way, this will depend upon you attitude, and I don't mean whether you got up on the wrong side of the bed; I mean whether you are facing up hill or down hill....duuuhhhh!) you can still ride at least 16 more stressful miles, if you don't have your thumb in it......been there....done that.....don't want to do it again!)

I would definately agree with TRX450 (BTW, WHATSUUUP Mike?) get a fuel cell! They are wonderful for peace of mind, and aren't bad for wheelies either if mounted on the rear rack!
