You're probably right about the length. I can't tell if gas is coming out of the long ones only and running down over the bolts that are flush fitting or the gas is coming out of some of the flush ones also. Back to square one.

My temporary fix is to put 2 of the buggered screws back in where the 2 allen bolts didn't tighten up completely. My guess is that one out of four holes on each plate is blind with the others being through holes.
Has anyone successfully put 16's in the top left of rear carb or top right of front carb float cover?
When I get a chance I'll try to shorten up 2 of the 16's to see if they'll work instead of those screws.
