I wonder if any of these problems can be traced back to the choke sticking problem. Virtually every 650 out there has ended up with gas contaminating the oil at one time or another. That can't be good for moving parts.

 

I know it overheated during the breakin but constantly I shut it off once the light came on. I kept it under 1/2 for the first 200 added half at 300 and my breaking ended at 900km.
