Default Installed: Ricochet Skid Plate

Just want to give a thumbs up to the Ricochet Skid plate. For anyone looking to improve the protection on the bottom of their quad, I highly recommend this plate. The front and middle factory skids are two separate, flimsy pieces. The ricochet is one solid stronger piece, that goes from the front all the way past where the middle skid plate was. It bolts up to stock bolt holes with ease, and has cutouts for draining the front diff and engine oil. The highlifter plate looks very similar, but was $180. The Ricochet plate goes for around $99. My stock skid plates crunched like tinfoil a few weekends ago on a really rough and rocky/stumpy trail. Going back tomorrow and the plate came just in time. Glad to know I'm really protected now! Go for it guys.

Another happy Ricochet skid plate customer. I have been trying to get a Ricochet for the last 6 months but always out-of stock but not anymore, mine will be in on Tuesday.

I'm sure you will enjoy it. I tested mine out today, hit some serious rocks and stumps and not a ding or scratch even, i'm very pleased!

Did you guys notice and difference in weight between the stock and ricochet skid plates? Is the oil filter accessable after you installed the ricochet?

The new skid plate is definitely heavier/sturdier/thicker than the stock plates. The weight of the plate is not significant though, as far as being heavy enough to slow your bike down. There are cutouts to access the oil drain plug as well as the front diff plug. Everything matched right up and bolted on, 15 min.

The Ricochet skid plate also has a cut-out for the oil to drain from the oil-filter, very clean & functioner smooth bottom design from the front skid to the rear. Bolts right up.
Got mine out-of- www.rockymountainatv.com for $103 w/shipping & it only took 3 days to get it.
