You can tell your school buddy to race across a set of nasty whoops full throttle, hit some doubles and triples going about 40mph all while there's other atv's only a few inches away and if he does that without having to pull his goggles out of his crack, in my opinion, he has skill..

I agree!! My prairie weighs over 800 pounds w/rider aboard. Racing that much weight over jumps, through creeks, up and down steeps hills etc w/10 other riders around you doing the same thing requires more skills than your schoolage friend can imagine. He obviously rides dirtbikes, and has never seen anyone race a quad. People tend to put down what they don't understand.

Racing a ATV takes alot of skill and a huge set of ba11s. Speeding around corners and flying in the air seeing a competator so close to you yiou can touch him. Racing atvs takes years of practice ti get good and even then you may not be the best. Sounds like the guy who told you that has never raced a quad or drove one.

I have to say I disagree with everything above. It takes no real skill to race or do anything anything. Anyone can climb onto a quad or bike or whatever and hit the gas, all they need is another person next to them and they are racing. Look at every idiot with 1/2 hour riding experience on a crotchrocket doing 140 down the interstate. No skill whatsoever. To race WELL or SUCCESSFULLY however, takes some skill.
