Thanks for the help! I will try to get at it this weekend, see what I can figure out. I will post back, hopefully with some positive results.

Soooo, went out this weekend and the spring is loaded against a small nub that sticks out. I was feeling frisky so I took a screwdriver and pushed the spring past the nub and it slipped down to another "nub" about 1/2 a turn away making it much easier to push the throttle. Very easy and very fast!

Bought some paddles on craigslist a few weeks ago since it was slipping really badly in the super dry stuff. The only thing left is to buy some stickers and paint the tank black since its all chipped up and ugly. The bolts that hold it on just seem to slip though, if anyone has any advise on how to get that off.

My sons last quad looked much nicer, but was very cheap and had no usable suspension. He was very excited to get the "newer to us" but much older quad, mostly because we were excited to get him something with good suspension. When the excitement wore off he asked if we could put some stickers or something on it to make it look better, what a trooper for a 7 year old to not complain about the looks.
