Default badger pinion wrench

I have a 92 yfm 80. I have factory service manual, but it does not show a special wrench part number to remove the lock ring that holds in the pinion bearing and gear. Any help with finding this tool would be great. The clowns at the dealership are no help.

Welcome to the forums.
Looking at a fiche, it looks like what holds it is a big nut.
The nut has 4 notchs in it. This is where a special tool would be used.
I'd think a hammer and brass punch (or if need be a screwdriver) can be used to hit the notch to loosen it.
Hope that helps.
