Lt80 Wiseco piston
#1
I wish I had studied more!!! I did read that those cheap top end kits had junk pistons, so I bought a Wiseco. I have the top end all done and buttoned up. Haven’t fired it up yet, but it’s ready to go.Now I reading that these pistons suck in the Lt80!!!! What to do??? It has a new standard bore aftermarket cylinder. Anything I can do to make this work. If I’d read a little more I’d have went another route.

Jack knows a lot more than me, but if you have got it all ready to go, why not try it. Also, I think the cheapo Chinese cylinders are regarded as worse than the pistons, so you may be best getting your old cylinder re-bored to suit an oversize Suzuki piston, if the set up you now have doesn't work.

Start and let it warm at ldle for a minute or so, stop and let cool. do that 3 times. Run again for a few minutes. Let cool. Now you can ride it. Run it up to 1/2 throttle for 5 minutes. Let cool. do that twice. Prolly set to go now. Biggest thing is to vary the throttle. No sustained throttle at one position. Especially for the first tank of gas. Wouldn't hurt to put a cpl ounces of oil in the gas tank. You'll be ok.
