I am considering replacing the stock 145-70-6 tires and wheels with slightly larger tires and wheels to increase the ground clearance. The stock 6" wheels have a 3 bolt, 78mm bolt pattern. Can these be replaced with 7", 3 bolt, 78mm pattern wheels with 16" diameter tires? Any concerns about drive sprocket ratios with larger diameter tires?

 

There could be problems with clearances round the plastics, especially on full suspension travel and full lock but, as long as there is enough room, you shouldn't have problems. The gearing will be higher but not by much, I would try it and see. At the front, steering will be altered, especially if those tyres are wider, but again, it will not be a big difference. Not sure of the outside dia of your existing tyres, circa 15"? Is it worth it for 1/2"" extra ground clearance?
