Default New Dinli Beast

Last night I purchased a 2003 Dinli Beast for my 2 sons. Reading through the manual, it says to use minimum 91 octane gas. There is no mention of what engine/trans oil to use or what type of grease to use either. What gas does everyone use? What about oils and grease? I use a low low-temp (white) grease in my snowmobile. Is this good for the quad?

Also, I'll be picking it up tonight. Anything special I should look for?

Thanks!

For engine oil use Belray S2, for trans oil use 90 wt, things to check.
1. make sure tire valve stems are on hte outside.
2. make sure lug nuts are tight.
3. make sure seat latch is holding tightly.
4. check the toe in of the front. should be 1/4" in.
5. check that handlebars are secure.
6. check routing of throttle cable to make sure it is not binding or reving up when you turn the handlebars.
7. make sure brakes are addjusted properly.
8. make sure your kid has a helmet, chest protector, boots, gloves, riding pants on everytime.
9. make sure they understand that the throttle works in both directions on and off!

Thanks TRex.

I checked most of the things you mentioned and everything was okay. I'll look at the rest tonight.

As far as riding equipment, I have everything except a chest protector. Any suggestion on which one to get? I was looking at Thor and Fox. Is one better than the other? How about best places to buy online.

Thanks,

Dave

I got a Thor Minishock (the litle bitty one) for my 5 yo... I ended up buying it at a local shop since it would have been more expensive online after shipping (I looked at a lot of online shops too). If you can find one on ebay, you could probably score a good deal. The Thor fits her well, and you can buy a cool number plate peice that goes on the back.

Fly racing makes a nice protector for the mini kids.

Still unsure about the gas. Recommended is 91 octane. Will using 87 octane (what my other quads require) just decrease performance or will the engine run rougher? Any possible damage?

It can precombust and damage your piston. Also will not run as smooth.
