fmf or dg for lt80
#4
I ran a DG on my son's LT80 years back, the rivets that hold the silencer on vibrated loose after the first ride, I ended up tapping the holes to 1/4-20 and bolting it on (use lock washers). never had a problem after that.

for our application the ct pipe has worked the best and we have tried all the pipes listed.do not waste your money on the lrd i did then gave it away.thats my opinion i know lt from what iunderstand gets good power from astock pipe.so it is a matter of what set up you have but the ct and hetrick have worked best for us.. don't forget your clutch mods..

Good point! Every pipe has it's tune point.
I personally make my motors run on a stock pipe and carb. BUT,I have tuned them in for others,,,Ones that have worked easily is DG and LRD. Both will give a slightly higher rpm.
I have recently tuned in a CT/Hetrick pipe,,,the results are not complete yet,but after messing around,so far the stock pipe is still king. AGAIN,this is with my "national kit" porting specs.
The topic starter asked about the FMF,,This pipe made medium to good HP w/stock motor, but with porting it revved to approx 7000 rpm's and leveled off. Reportedly,,mine rev to 9500-9800 rpm's.

I have put the Fatty pipe with Powercore 2 silencer on my daughters lt and my boys kfx. It "appears" to pull a little harder at the top than it did stock. Looks and sounds cool though. I also put in Uni filters and did some airbox mods, left the jetting stock. Bikes are duners only.
