Default My lt80 needs help

My '95 lt80 needs your help. It was running fine, but since I purchased it used I figured I better make sure it was maintained. I removed the gas tank to service the air filter ( I now know you don't need to remove the tank). The filter was plugged up, very dirty. I cleaned and reoiled the filter. I put a new spark plug in, with the correct gap setting. I put the tank back on. Now it does'nt run for crap. It's hard to start, when it does start it revs real hi then stalls. Seems to smoke more than before as well. While I'm at it I want to change the rear gear box oil. What type oil goes in it? I will be replacing the oil in the oil tank with known good Synthetic just in case the previous owners where using outboard oil or something. Is there a way to adjust or check the adjustment of the oil pump?(I don't want to premix)
Thanks for any and all response.

I would suggest first taking the carb off and give it a good cleaning. I know you dont what to use premix, but i suggest you rethink that because more that likely the pump will go out, then you are going to have bigger problems.

I agree. It sounds like something got into the carb. and is obstructing the jets.
I use 10-40 motor oil in the tranny.
There is no adjustment of the oil injector.

Thanks guys. Got the carb off and will clean today. Pulled the reeds they look great, but should I replace them anyways? Did a compression test. It is borderline with 120psi on a slightly warm cylinder(according to previous posts). Lastly is there a procedure for priming the carb? How is the prime setting used?

Just got th little guy back together today. I went ahead and serviced the whole thing. A very clean carb did the trick. Runs like a champ again. I did find crud in the carb. I pulled the gas tank drained and cleaned it while I was at it. Thanks for the help!!!
