LT80
#1
I just put an FMF fatty with an Powercore2 on my sons lt80 last night and noticed a few problems. First off, the exhaust at the back of the head was full of carbon. What is causing this build up and how to prevent it. (the motor was rebuilt about 9 months ago and this build up is from that point till now) Also it seems to have alot of oil in the stock pipe. I have noticed lately that it seems to smoke alot more than normal. Could it be the oil injection is putting to much oil in with the gas, and if so, what all do I have to do to delete the injection unit? other than that, the pipe looks great and seems to have helped gain some power.
I would also like to do some clutch mods but I have been unable to find much info on this, anyone care to help?
Thanks!!!!

The stock LT80 is pumping a fair amount of oil in, I always recommend switching to pre-mix. This is why there is such a build up in the exhaust tunnel and the pipe.
As far as clutch mods, you need to lower the roller weight.(basically)...There are plenty of clutch mods to do, but few that I recommend for a non ported motor. You need a motor to run the clutchs That's my theory...

I have found that unless you have ported it to run a fairly high amount of RPMs, it's best to stay at stock front weight or real close to it. I ended up just lightening 2 of the front rollers. Lightening the secondary clutch and just bringing everything up to par on the worn parts was the best running setup for my daughter. I was conservative on the porting and did not raise the transfer ports. I dont believe the FMF pipe would be too good for high RPMs. The fatty normally is designed for a lot of grunt and midrange.

Bubba, you are exactly right, I was going to say the same, but feared ppl would take it as me ragging on that pipe. We put it on a machine that normally turned 9800 rpm's and couldn't pull 7000.

EASY TO BLOCK OFF OIL INJECTION, IF YOU CALL HETRICK YOU WILL PAY A FORTUNE. ALLYOU HAVE TO DO IS UNHOOK BOTH HOSES FROM THE PUMP,ITS LOCATED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BIKE RIGHT ABOVE WHERE YOUR TOES WOULD BE IF YOU ARE STANDING ON THE FOOT PEGS, EITHER TAKE THE OIL TANK AND HOSE OFF OR DRAIN IT AND LEAVE IT IT DONT MATTER YOU DONT NEED IT ANYMORE, CUT THE HOSE GOING INTO THE CARB. LEAVE ABOUT 1" GET A RUBBER PLUG TO FIT IT AT THE AUTO PARTS STORE OR JUST PUT A SCREW IN IT WITH A LITTLE SILICONE ON IT AND PUT A ZIP TIE AROUND IT, DO THE SAME TO THE PUMP ON BOTH HOSES OR GET A BLOCK OFF PLATE, YOU CAN GET THAT FROM HETRICK OR OUT OF A DIRTWHEELS MAG, LOOK IN THE BACK. I MIX MY GAS 36:1 WITH KLOTZ SUPER TECHNIPLATE OIL, YOU CAN EVAN MIX IT 32:1 IF YOU WANT MORE OIL, BUT OURS RUNS BETTER36:1. THATS ALL IT TAKES DONT COST MUCH AT ALL BETTER THAN$60.00 +DOLLARS AN HOUR IF YOU TAKE IT TO THE SHOP.
