Manual says there's .9 qt. oil capacity. I'd just add 3/4 of what it sats, and then check dipstick as you top it up a little at a time. Manual says use 20-40 SAE , SE SF. I always aue 10/40. Just as cheap as 10/30. There is a filter screen inside the right cranckcase cover. They recommend cleaning it every second oil change. Thing is, you have to remove crankcase cover, so you may need a new gasket.

If oil was that dirty, did you take out the oil screen and clean it?

My sons old 87 moto4 that I had the same questions for... Frame is almost identical to the rator 80. I installed 2000 rator 80 plastic with very little modifications... I have pictures of it if you intrested. I never finished it .. instead I sold it and bought my son a diffrent quad with suspension. If you go the extra mile and buy all parts such as front, rear, seat, and hood of the raptor 80 it will look NICE,,, here is a link of pics.. if it dont work please email me and I will send you the pics... if you got any questions on how to do this Email.

Ron,
I picked up the plastic on ebay for $180 to install it was easy. Everything pretty much fits into place its pretty much the same frame. The only thing I really had to do was make two front brackets out or a 1" piece of steel. to hold the fenders, The seat you see in that pic is the same seat that your sons bike has now... I just made a templete with a pizza box (Hey its wad I had there) and then I just laid the templete on the seat pan and just cut... once I did that I just cut the foam and took it to a car apolsetry shop and they made the seat cover for like $35. That bike came with a light already it was one of the few that came with light if I understand right. As far as the whip with light... There is some antenas out there that run of a 9volt batery.. I seen some at glamis my last time there. Good luck... and you can email me if you have more questions... the only reason I stoped putting money into that bike is cause my son started jumping with it and with no suspension its kinda hard.... I was going to do a custom suspension on it using blaster front a-arms and Kasea front shocks... but thats a whole nother project.

I think you can stand them on the back end, I don't know for sure. Many people transport them this way, so I can't see why not.let it settle for awhile after. Or...ask a dealer. I recently stood my LT80 on back end for several days while pulling and repairing starter. No problems at all.
