Default 50CC FOR A 4 YEAR OLD

My daughter is 4 and I'm looking for something she can putt around on. I'm hoping to spend around $1,000 if thats possible. Also my son is 1 so hopefully by the time she outgrows it, he'll be just right.

My son is 4 and we are buying the Suzuki LTA50. My younger son just turned 3 and he fits fine, also. He can reach the floorboards and can pull the brakes fine. They rode a battery powered ATV to death, so this is the next step. We already have a Suzuki LT80 for when they get older. Good luck.

Depends on how large your 4 yr old is. Mine was too large for the little mini. Look at www.anythingatv.com, they have numerous quads and you will se the difference in sizes as well. Once you have an idea of what size you want then you can narrow it down to what type. New expect to spend from $1300 to $2000 for anything decent.

I was thinking about the LT50. When I was at the dealership picking up my Z she fell in love with it. She was sitting on it and it seemed to fit her fine. They offered to through it in with mine for another $40 a month, but I'd rather look around and pay cash. Thanks for the help.

You are wise to look away from the LT50! Many purchase, many more regret it, especially when they see cheeper quads doing circles around it.

I would be leary of these machines! At 4 it is very difficult to grasp the idea of constantly shifting gears. I would stay with something that has a CVT (automatic).

I don't think other quads doing circles around a 50cc bike with a 4-year-old driver is much of a concern. That's usually not the purpose when starting a 4 year old. Also, re-sell value is usually higher on a well kept Suzuki (or Honda, Yamaha, etc.) then on one of the lesser-known kid brands. We bought our LT80 used over a decade ago and it would still sell for what we paid. True, inflation plays a big part in that, but the bikes last and do well.

That said, I am sure there are other bikes that might go faster, but there is nothing wrong with the LT50 for a 4-year-old who fits and "I" have never heard of anyone or their kids regretting the purchase.
