Default lt80 chain and sprockets!! aargh!!

Would going to a 40# chain and 428 sprockets (aluminum rear and steel front, stock size) help with power since there would be less weight in rotating mass.?

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Still at it eh bud?!
I bet you still don't understand the difference in 428 and 520 sizes.
So do you want to go to a 15 in 428 or 520 size?

I dont think the roller on the top is a good idea, that is the tight side of the chain when the engine is pulling the rear wheels, (loose when you roll the wheels forward rotation by hand. The roller should go below, then it will be on the loose side of the chain and last much longer from the reduced stress

I donno. We've ran them each way. I agree that most design the roller to be on the bottom.
The chain pulls on top so I'm thinking it may be a mute issue.??

It will work, but not for as long imo. Plus the bottom side of the chain is still going to be where any remaining slack accumulates. I own one of these but have not messed with the chain yet, though new 12/26 sprockets and chain are on order. I have work on numerous sled chain cases though and have never seen one yet where the tensioner is designed into the tight side of the chain. Even though the LT80 is farely low hp why put the part in a higher stress location? I would think it would rob a bit more hp on the top side then the bottom too...

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....I see how you took that.
I think the way it really is that, after the front sprocket is where we are talking. Between the front and rear we have mounted the roller in each side of the chain to tighten it.(to describe it different)
Not on top between the rear and front.
You certainly would be 100000% correct in that circiumstance.

Lol not trying to be 10000% correct, just trying to be helpful and visualize for my own future reference. Switching mine from 10/22 520 to 12/26 428, might need a roller too, so your saying to put either above or below on the lower side of the chain. I would have thought up for ground clearance, but must be some mounting issues with that?
