I just bought a used LT 80 1996 model. Previous guy said fresh rebuild (stock). It has a little DG pipe on it and the oil injection system has been blocked. Came home it ran strong about 2 hours, then son said he was jumping, it hit the ground and started to slow down. Ran about another 100 feet and quit. Checked spark (good), checked gas (full), stood it up on rear end and gas poured out the tailpipe. Removed the front tube that connects to breather and gas ran out. So any advice? Reeds? Just wanted to know before I went too far the wrong way.

First thought would be a plugged open float needle. do a thorough carb cleaning and we'll go from there.

Thanks, I disassembled it and cleaned it, removed all gas from tail pipe and best i could cylinder. Put carb back on, it fired right up! Ran about a minute, then started to ride. Would idle and run about half throttle fine, but if you nail it, it cuts out and tries to shut down. This machine has been sitting a while. (years) I sloshed the gas around and can see a little trash, but the filter by the petcock is not trashy. Did trash get in the carb again? I guess next is to remove the tank and clean it, then try it again. Also Jack, I have a DG carb kit with KN airfilter. This motor is stock, clutch is stock, but someone put a DG pipe on it. Would this carb enhance stock motor any? If so what is the big white piece of plastic that came with kit? Thanks again. Really value your opinoin.

It is possible that it got plugged up again. I'd do a compression check at this point also.
The big carb may help performance.My guess it would be the same. The white thing is a mud shield that zip-ties to the frame.You really don't need that.
