Where can I find protection for people under 60 lbs. The youth chest protectors on E-bay all say for 70-110 lbs. I've tried findin Oneals website with no luck.. any help would be appreciated.

htey all fit a little different. Best thing to do is to take your kid in and try them on. Alot have some adjustments in them also. Another thing to look for with a cha=est protector is a neck roll. It will help support your kids helmet weight and they will not be as likely to get those whipping injuries

Thor also makes a mini micro shock chest protector. 40-60pds. Best to find a dealer and size them...and then if you want to find it online cheaper you know what you are getting. Neck roll is a very good investment.

I agree, you need to have them try it on for fit. An improperly fit protector can in fact cause a far worse injury than if they were not wearing one. There are plastic edges that can in fact break bones if they are not sitting correctly on the shoulders, arms etc.

I never ride without one. I make all three of my kids wear one too. Not sure about the neck roll though, as I would think it would restrict their ability to turn their head, and in riding MX or trails, you need full motion to be aware of everything around you.

Get a protector that also provides some protection for the spine. Mine saved me a broken back once, so it is a part of me now... They also spread the shock out over a larger percentage of the body when the kids fall. Thus reducing the injury.

I know the urge to buy one a little larger than they need is always a problem, but in this, and helemts, you really need to make sure that they fit properly in order to provide maximum protection. There is enough adjustment available to make it possible to use if for a couple of years at least.

I actually saw a kid with what must have been his dad's helmet one day on the trail turn his head real quick and all it did was spin his head inside the helmet, when he tried to look back to the front, the helmet went with him, so here he was with his helmet totally blocking his vision and heading for a tree. Luckily, he didn't do much damage... but it could have been a tragedy right there.

Well.. here's my take on it... my 6y0, 40lbs daughter had a pretty bad wreck last fall... She was practicing at a MX track on her Scrambler 50. There were other kids out there, and then one older kid got out there on a KX125... my daughter was on the back side of a table top when teh 125 came over and landed on the back side of her quad. As he landed on her quad, he side swiped her in the back. This resulted in her going over the bars superman style. She landed on her right hand, with ended up fracturing her wrist and elbow. Other than that, just some minor bruises.

What was she wearing? a Snell/DOT approved helmet, Thor goggles, Thor Phase4 shirt and pants, Thor gloves, Thor Mini-Shock shect protector (their smallest one), Thor YT-20 boots, and a Fox kidney belt. We also have a football style flat neck roll attached to the chest protector.

I'm convinced that her gear saved her life (or at least from being crippled).

At the Hospital, they cut off her shoulder guards on her chest protector and shirt.

I emailed Thor thanking them for making quality equipment and about buying replacement shoulder guards. They responded by asking me for my address so they could send free parts to repair her gear.

After this, I'm all about Thor MX gear. We've since added Thor arm guards to her gear bag.

My son also has all Thor Phase gear and if they made there stuff a little bigger his dada would have it too ( just a bit to fat)!! You would be suprised at how little the neck roll restricts movement. My son doesn't notice it at all but then again he has always had it so he doesn't know the difference!!

Chris

Plus kids look so cute all decked out in there gear!!!
